knives with metal buttcaps

Got in my first knife with a steel buttcap, Ontario SPC23 Magnum Ranger w/5" blade. The excellent balance on this knife was quite unexpected. It makes this an extremely "quick" knife, if that is the proper term to describe it. It also feels that it has a heavier than normal tang for its size. Is excellent balance and "quickness" common traits to most knives with metal buttcaps? Or is this just a lucky combo of blade to handle wgts.? If so I may begin to make it a requirement for future purchases. Any experiences with other knives?
