I like this blade shape, does it have a name? Does anyone know of other knives that have this shape of blade? I specifically like the overall shape and swedge. I wouldn't mind having one of these, but they are pricy, and out of stock. Thanks for looking all!

This is a TRC Apocalypse

BUCK 650 and RANDALL 5-6. Two of my favorite knives, but I rarely have a need for knives like these. I can cut hay bale twine strings, open feed sacks, and disect carrots into bite-sized horse treats with much more minimalist cutting tools. You might find a BUCK 650 on that big online auction site that's in your budget. Happy hunting! T-A

Cool knife. It reminds me of a Randall or a Blackjack Model 1-7 (or model 5). Also looks like the Buck 119 special editions with the straight clip point blades.

If you're searching for the Buck on the 'Bay, search for "Buck Nighthawk knife". I believe the 655 was ~5.25" blade, and the 650 was ~6.5" blade. There were black and green handle models, and maybe others. And some ugly tanto bladed versions. But all are a lot cheaper than any Randall. Nice knives, but very dear these days.

Randall has a variety of models with that shape blade. The recent limited run Buck 119 with Magnacut steel also looks very similar to that blade. OH

Thanks for all the replies. I didnt know buck made anything like that... I do like bucks. I might end up getting the TRC at some point, I keep coming back to it.

I think a lot of people like the TRC, I like the looks of it too. I notice it has a finger choil. You’d have to decide if you want a knife that has one. If you hold -just- the handle, the cutting edge starts maybe an inch away from your hand, so if you want to hold just the handle and put a lot of force on the cutting edge, like for carving wood, you hand will get tired faster because of leverage.

I seen that finger choil, I'm not sure how I feel about it. I don't think it'd bother me much if any. I wouldn't be doing any carving with the knife but I could choke up on it and it'd probably be just fine. I'm more likely to use it as a hunting knife, swiping at an occasional briar. I wouldn't be using it for bushcraft, though I know many that get that knife would use it for that.

I like certain aspects of the knife, and Not to be a wet blanket....... but........ It's not a hunting knife. :)

Course... that Randall appeals to me aesthetically too... so perhaps I should set my sights on a Randall instead. Thanks for sharing.

Here's a photo of the BOTM 119, V3, with the drop point/swedge,,,

Good Lord that's pretty! that'd satisfy my itch... wow. Thanks for sharing.

Just did a little research on it, probably never run across one but it's very nice. Thanks again.
