Let's face it, Jerry can't be everywhere, and he can't do everything. I think most of you probably have other knives out there that fill your needs for things that the Busse co. can't provide. Been waiting for the FBM, but bought a machete you needed until you wait for it? Missed out on the NICK and had to buy a Wusthof? What the story? Maybe Jerry will read this thread and get some ideas going, you never know.
Okay, first of all, I like folders, and I'm really waiting for the day Jerry releases his. In the meantime, I really like BM axis locks, I only have Ares right now though, and a number of Spydercos. I also like framelocks a lot also, I have a big beefy Andrew Demko folder that I have a pic of in the gallery, as well as a Camillus Dominator. If Jerry's folder were assisted, I'd buy three.
Another knife that I have is a Stellite bitteroot, that I keep specifically out in the garage to open salt for the driveway and water softener, I don't want salt around anything that iron based. I hate rust. Also, I'm a sucker for a pretty face, in this case a sleek bowie, jerry makes nice tough knives, but getting a reasonable nice long bowie with some nice decorative features would just be too prohibitatively expensive, when I can get one from a maker, or even a mastersmith at a cost that is still high, but not as bad.

My EDC is a large classic Sebenza with micarta inlay.

I have a Sean O’Hare Silver Raven that is both a beautiful and functional fixed blade utility knife.

I’m not sure I’ll ever be as attached to another knife as I am to my first good knife; a Chris Reeve Shadow 7” that I bought when I was 17.

I’m looking forward to getting a Burt Foster, but haven’t quite decided what knife I want.

Large Graphics Sebenza
Small Leather inlay sebenza
Strider SNG
soon Darrel Ralph
soon Strider RC(FNG)
Matthew Roberts

Until the Busse folder comes i must settle for striders, sebenza's, William Henrys etc.

BLASPHEMY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You are required to relinquish all of your INFI immediately!!!!!! You have my address. :D

Benchmade folders... TSEK AFCK and various AXIS locks.

Just put in a order for a polished Large Classic Sebenza with micarta inlay. 4 month waiting period. Geeez I thought I had to be patient for a Busse!

You do! Remember how long it took to the mini EUs and the FSHs!

4 months is nothing. The FSH's did that and another year. My Carson U2 Stellite monster was around 18 months. My Randalls were 13 months. I'm still waiting for my wives new Ratweiller and it's been 4 months. You gotta be patiend unless you go out there and buy mass produced knives.

+1 on the Benchmade folders. I have several of the inexpensive Griptilians, a couple in D2, the rest in 440c which I'm starting to warm up to. What a great knife for the money though. I like Benchmade autos and have a few of them as well.

What's the deal with the the Sebenza guys??, I saw a small standard one for sale here new, no lines, no waiting for $285. I got a twinge but then thought what INFI I could buy with that money. I'm feeling a draw to buy one, am I going to get sucked in?? Are they really that good??

Wow brian this sounds like a "Are Sebenza's worth it thread" getting started here. You KNOW they have the search engine for that;) I own 5, and lol to me there worth it behind my strider SNG they are my favorite pocket knife. I use it for more dressy situations than my SNG. Anywho since I have to have a REASON behind it and to why its not inf. Thats because there's no Busse folder yet, as soon as that comes out well I bet we'll all be saying "sebenza who....?"

Sebenza, Chris Reeve One Piece, Elishewitz folder, ICC Bull Bowie, Randall Stanaback Special, I am presently thinking of buying a forged carbon steel skinner type knife.

Okay, but what you get out of these knives that the Busse co. doesn't provide for you. Details are good. Thanks.

Both of these guys are one-man shops and perform everything except heat treat themselves. They also happen to make some very nice kydex for their stuff. Tom is a nurse in real life and only makes knives as a side hobby.

Small, thin D2 blades with relatively large handles for easy grip. He is, to my mind, the spiritual heir to Bob Dozier. You can see the influence in just about each knife he makes, but particularly the TK-3 and TK-4.

Anso: http://www.ansoknives.com/

Unusual blade shapes (Tukan and Sheepsfoot are my two favorites) in a quasi-premium materials (RWL34 and Damasteel) with excellent fit and finish. He also makes killer folders ranging from pocket to gargantuan for those who simply must have their knives pre-broken.

When it comes to fixed blade knives I only have two that are not by Busse. Both are made by Newt Livesay. I bought them before I bought my first Busse.

One is a small utility knife called the US Marshall, a nice little knife for the money, even though I paid more for the BladeRigger sheath it's in than I did for the knife. I never ended up using it.
The other is his entry tool which I bought when I was bustin down doors on deployment and never ended up using. Now I really don't need it. Anything I need pried open I will just use my NO for.
Since Jerry doesn't have a folder in mass production yet I use a Strider GB. I figured I would go for the most tank-like folder I could lay hands on. It is just that and I use it all the time. :)So until Jerry gets a folder in my hands I will stick with the Strider GB.
I also have a plain Large Sebenza I carry in civilian clothes. I love my Sebenza and have gotten much use from it. :)
I also have an Emerson Commander, I like the ergos and it is a nice knife, but since owning the Strider GB I dont trust the liner lock on it like I do the Strider so it doesn't get much carry.

When it comes to fixed blade knives I don't have much interest in anything not Busse right now. Speaking of things Busse... I would like and update on the Kenny Wayne knives.

Regards,

Nick
