I had to dig through my phone for the old pics, I think these are right.... I didn't have any New condition looking pictures. But it was ok looking with a slim handle, & vintage black Micarta.

Returned looking:

After some clean-up (still haggard) but after grinding most of the Blood off.....

I'll take it.

I'll take it.

Haha..... I'd send it to ya....but actually I was thinking/hoping to give it away to a kid, or someone in need.... If Anyone knows somebody?
*Id probably have to post in the "Give Away" section.

David.....you are more than capable of having, and deserving of a Better knife.

*Id gladly make You a knife, but something that looks better. :)

What really "sucks" is that it's in my top 10 most
comfortable handles...Ha.
It's butt ugly, but feels great.
I Want to love the knife.....but I just don't have the attachment.
* Something I wish we makers talked about in the (makers section) Lots of knives I made, I wish I could of kept..... I can't be the only maker who thinks about that stuff?

How do Others feel, letting some of their favorites go?

I'm reporting posts 31-35 requesting they be made into a new thread titled "Knives you made and wished you'd kept".

Haha......David, Your too much.

*For the record. The pics/links above are from a topic here on BF about having loner knives...that Knife was one that I made, and loned out, and it came back Ruined.

But during the discussion David and I started the topic of knives we let go.....
I think it would be Fun if other Makers shared their experiences about selling or letting go knives that they Really Wanted to keep for themselves....

It's gotta happen Alot?
* That knife above Isn't one of My loves, but I'll dig a picture of one out later, maybe

All of them. :)

Good answer!!!

Haha.....a few haunt me so far.
I'm not sure how You started? I had no intention or interest of making knives for Other people....
I was just wanting certain things not easily got, and it was difficult finding people who could help me, so I started doing IT myself....

Then I made stuff.... Let stuff go.....then I miss them.... :0

Now that it's a new thread and we're not derailing further (which I admit I started, mea culpa), I will agree with Josh. Just about every knife I made in the last few years is one I would have gladly kept if I could have.

I think maybe this one

I need to find pictures of some of my older, early 2000's stuff! I did a small little knife in Devin's damascus, with titanium scales, and had some other interesting blades that I made back then. I am sure my quality is better now, but it would be cool to see some of those pics! I gotta check my old desktop; I think I may have pictures on it or the external hard drive.

I made a wakizashi with all mokume koshirae. The blade was damascus san-mai with a layer of nickel between then that made a really great faux-hamon. I sold it to a collector. When he died, I tried to buy it back from his estate. They would not sell it. They sold all of his other knives and swords, but not my wak and a carved dragon tsuka/saya tanto I made for him.
I wish I had never sold either one. They were probably the finest blades I ever made. I'll look for photos when I get a chance.

Made both of these around 2017 and selling them to this day. The keyhole is what me and many others believe was the first done in antler. I now know why as it was weeks of scraping and fitting. IMG_1960.jpegIMG_8148.jpeg
