I'm relatively new here, signed up on January 1, 2012. I actually got my first Bussekin in December, a Rucki from the Swamp Rat Co. store. 4 months later and I now have 11 Busse, 6 Rats, and 2 Dogs.
I decided to make the to make the 4 1/2 hour trip. When I got there, I didn't calculate the time zone difference, so I was one of the last 3 or 4 to make it. I absolutely didn't know anyone there, and most seem to be familiar with each other. Pokey was the first to introduce herself, and slowly I started talking to a few guys around. All the Busse guys and Gals introduced were very friendly There was some knife talk and even some gun talk before we got the 1 hour preview. There was pizza and desserts the crew had brought. I was really wanting 2 knives, a SNFO and SAR4. I asked a bunch of questions to pretty much anybody that gave me eye contact and everyone was patient with me. Thank all of you for taking your time to answer all my questions. I decided I would add a FBM to my wants.
So the frenzy starts and I totally feel out of water. By the time I look at the tables, it seemed like half the knives were gone. I got my SFNO, but the only SAR 4 was way too pretty. I was only looking for users at this time. When the smoke cleared I switched my original SFNO for a different one, picked up a BWM(FBMs were gone), B4, Boss Jack, and an ASH that was put back. As we waited to settle up I got to talk to a lot of others and see what they scored. Everyone was civilized through the whole event. I would have liked to stay and have some beers with everyone, but I already had plans to be at the NRA convention the next morning. Maybe next time, and I'll bring the booze. I headed back to St. Louis knowing that this won't be my last.

Sorry this is long winded. I want thank the Busse family that included Garth, Pokey, Lexi, Dan, and Beef. Hope I didn't leave anyone out. I also want to thank the rest of you guys that made it such a great experience.
Thanks again,
Luck
