I am officially going to Knob Creek!! So, now I have a few questions. Are there other knifemakrs/dealer there? (Not that I would buy a knife from anyone else...) What other stuff is there? Is the camping good, or is a hotle better? Thanks everyone!!

Thor, not that many other knife dealers, since it is predominantly a Class 3 (full auto, suppressed, destructive devices) show. Think of it as a gun show on mega steroids.

As you can read on their site, there is a range on which you can rent various machine guns for about $1US per round.

You have to stay for the Saturday night shoot. That is a must-see happening, esp since you are traveling that far. Seeing the thousands of tracer rounds, as well as the 55-gal drums full of fuel exploding, really makes it a memorable event.

What all is available will depend on the weather. If it rains, some sections may be closed as they are in low laying areas, and the creek levels are directly related to the level of the Ohio River, which is only a couple miles away. If it is too dry, tracers will be prohibited to prevent forest fires.

On that note, best to dress for wet weather, or at least bring rain gear.

If it were me, first time, I'd look for a hotel, unless you are a hard core camper. Also, I'm not sure what changes have recently taken place (space availability, rules, etc.) there for camping. The camping is very primative at best.

Toilet facilities are porta-johns. To the best of my knowledge, in the camping area, no running water or wells.

I know that motels are filling up or already full that are close by.

Folks book rooms 6 months in advance at the closer hotels.

Busse will be set up. I'll be posting soon with details.

Hope this helps.

Ammo, mags, parts, and accessories are plentiful...bring cash:)

The Saturday night shoot is like a rock concert and the fourth of July rolled into one! Bring hearing protection if you don't like to wear plugs.

I won't be attending this fall but hopefully next year I'll make it.

Have you made hotel reservations yet??

Tick Tock

The closer it gets the farther away you'll stay. I found out the hard way a couple times.. :grumpy:
