Knob on top of handle?

What is the right english name for the knob at the top of some knife handles?

Could be a decorative pommel nut that holds the handle on.

That's a Norwegian knife. The knob is to hold blade in sheath by looping the strap at the top of the belt loop (notice the hole in the strap at top of pic). A common way to retain knife in sheath.
