Here is what the mailman brought today - Team Gemini bowie variant from the KnoboGanzaaa. Great feeling knife, but being a TG I already expected that. Thank you very much Busse and crew!!!

Nice! I am getting one, too... making me wish I hadn't chosen to pay over three months.
ALSO, making me wish I'd gotten more than one!!!

How's the balance? How's the feel? How's everything compared to a regular Team Gemini, assuming you have or have had one? Think the clip point takes away from the original TG's great-yet-underestimated use as a general-purpose camp knife at all?

I only have the G-10 version to compare to, but they balance about the same. This TG is 2 ounces lighter than my other one. I would guess half this weight reduction is due to the G-10 vs micarta and the other ounce is probably from the steel removed from the front end. If you compared it to a standard TG with micarta grips I assume the weight difference would be one ounce but all from the front end. I wasn't sure how the weight would be since this variant has no fullers. The two ounce reduction is more noticeable than you would think. It feels good in the hand.

I would guess that the blade change would affect the usefulness a bit. The standard Team Gemini seems to be capable for most any use but not really specialized to any one use. This variant makes it better for "stabby" applications but would reduce its capability in uses such as batoning I would think. A great knife in any case.

WOW, that has to be the best looking TG I've seen!!! Very nice, and congrats...

Cool, thanks for the answers! I saw the standard Team Gemini being used on The Walking Dead. Seems like this one would be better for fighting off the zombies on the show.
I only got one, like I said, so I'm afraid to use it. You have two, so maybe you can't use my excuse :p

Those Scotties look almost as good as the TG's.
Congrats on scoring such a great looking pair. :D
I am curious about the specs on those.
You mentioned it being two oz lighter than the G10 version but not what the actual number was?
Did anyone else notice the lack of a fuller?
How thick are those TG's in front of the ricasso where the fuller would be?
My satin/tigerhide linen with fuller is .23 and weighs in at 19.3 oz

One was 19.0 ounces and the other 18.7 ounces. The spine is the same thickness as my other Geminis at almost 1/4". I don't have any decent calipers to measure the blade thickness. Both my G-10 Team Geminis come in at 20.9 ounces. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the info. Based on that, I would guess that the metal not removed the fuller area on yours could be taken out of the clip area without much change in weight. Thick G10 is surprisingly heavier than micarta and if there is coating that may add a little bit.

The bowie shape sure looks good on yours!
