It seems kind of silly to be knocking on the swinging doors of the Cantina, but I'll do it anyway.
It's been some time since I joined in much of any discussions here. Haven't posted a thing in years except in the memorial threads, I think. Fact is, after my wife died in August of 03, I kind of lost interest in a lot of things.
I have been lurking a lot lately. It seems that maybe some of you might like to see pics of some of my older khuks and other knives and "stuff". So I raided the near-empty wallet for a Gold membership.
About me: middle-aged widower, live in a suburb of Charlotte, NC. Owner of "a couple" of older khuks and "a few" other knives. Also, by the grace of the Almighty, I am priviledged to ride an Italian motorcycle.
I have a sense of humor...about most things...and I try to practice old Bill Wilson's rule #62 "Never take yourself too damn seriously."
So, can I come in and have a seat?

Thanks,

Mike L.

welcome Mike.

1. Yes to pictures.

2. What type of Italian motorcycle? Is it red?

3. Ignore the sign about spitting on the stove.

Welcome Mike! It's good to have another NC boy in here. I'm in Kernersville, Leatherface is in Liberty. Pull up a chair and set a spell.

Steve

Oh, and heck yeah about the pics!

Mr. Ferguson, can you brief me on posting pics...that is, about resizing them for proper viewing on the forum.
Where did I put that dang digital camera anyway?
I rarely spit on anyone's stove....unless the spitoons are full.
Oh, one more question. Better to post pics that include HI knives with non-HI knives and/or firearms in here or in the regular HI forum? Or does it matter? I really don't want to pain the moderators by having them move posts and such.
Well, I really don't want to pain the moderators at all.
I have a personal rule to always be polite to waitresses, bank tellers, law enforcement officers, and moderators. They all can make your life better or worse very easily.

I like pictures AND motorcycles!

Nows lets see them and feel free to stay as long as you like:thumbup:

Ducati! We don't ride no Ducati!
Ducatis around here are ridden by leather-clad espresso-sipping, fancyboys!

:)

I ride the legendary master of miles, the devourer of roadways, the mighty Moto Guzzi.

Sorry to hear about the loss of your wife.
I'm sure she would be very happy to know that, though you loved her very much, you are trying to get back to enjoying life as much as possible :)

I'm very much a newbie compared to you, but I hope you don't mind my saying.............. Welcome back! :)

Actualli Ikinda like Ducatis . They seem like a gutsy motorcycle compared to the sewing machine quiet rides of today .

Aside from that > Welcome back .

Well, I really like Ducatis myself...note the smilie in the previous post. I was at Deal's Gap this past Summer and the "King of the Hill" the day I was there was riding a beautiful Duc. He was beating the boyz on the Asian bikes...but just barely. I'll post a pic of my olde Goose as soon as I can get some guidelines as to pic. size. Don't you hate it when some schmoe posts a HUGE pic?
Right now it's time for the olde man's supper...I don't want to get grumpy...:grumpy:
Dang...this here posting on the internet bizness is fun.

Mike,
The max width is 800, height 600, and the max filesize is 100K.

To attach them to a post, click on "Manage Attachments" below the box where you type text, browse to where the pic is and click upload. After the pic uploads, you can do another. Five pics maximum per post I think.

Hey Mike,

Alllright! I had a Moto Guzzi moped!

OMG, i don't believe i admitted that here. :foot:

welcome.

Mike

once owned a moped; have owned a .25 auto; even had a weight-challenged girlfriend;

but all in the past.

Welcome back, Mike. Sorry to here about your wife; I hadn't been posting much on the forum when it happened.

I was thinking about you the other day. How are the injuries from the motorcycle accident doing?

Bob

Hey now,................ I had a .25 caliber Baby Browning, can't say that I'm ashamed of that :)

I know, I know, the .25 is no deer gun, but the Baby Browning gained some points with me for it's neatness factor (one absolutely small pistol) ;)

As for the heavy woman, that's okay, they need loving too (and I guess Ad Astra was willing to provide that love) :) LOL! :)

Just mess'in with you, buddy ;)

OK, here's the Goose next to my mobile home last summer at the Guzzis in the Blue Ridge campout.
