Know anything about these torches??? German made...

I've got one of these, the one that takes 3xaaa.

Works well for me, really well infact.

I waanted something with a bright and longlasting luxean star led bulb, water proof, long battery life, tailcap button with momentary on and easy to acquire cheap batteries.

Seems like very good quality, but I'm not big into flashlights so I don't have much knowledge to compare.

edited to add: You asked how they perform. Mine is bright, but again, I can't compare with other 1.25 watt led flashlights since I don't have any others. Really blinds you for a few seconds if you look into it, as the warning sticker says.

Also, I've had it for over a year, and I'm only on my second set of batteries. The first set came with the flashlight and they were almost empty.

The company you mention is German, but their flashlights are made in China. In the USA, the Led Lensers are sold by Coast.

I bought a Led Lenser David 15 Aluminum Luxeon Tactical LED flashlight at Fry's.

It runs on a single 1AA alkaline battery and I'm pleased with it so far. My flashlight is black aluminum, but you can purchase it in silver colored aluminum or a heavier version made of stainless steel:

There is a tactical style pushbutton switch on the rear which turns on the light temporarily as long as you keep it partially pressed. You can lock the light on by pressing the same switch fully and latching it.

It has a lanyard attachment, though I wish that part was a bit sturdier. I wear the David 15 on a neck lanyard in the house in the evening, and sometimes carry it with me in a shirt pocket. (I also carry an ARC AAA Premium on a neck lanyard when I leave the house.)

The David 15's 1 watt Luxeon LED is certainly bright enough for most of my indoor uses. Though it is bright enough for outdoor nighttime walks, I prefer to bring a brighter light, e.g., a Streamlight 4AA Propoly Luxeon or a Mini Maglight modified with a TerraLux TLE-5 1 watt Luxeon drop in.

The David 15 has O-rings on both the head and tail. I relube both those and the threads with silicone grease periodically.

I considered buying a Fenix L1P, but was willing to give up a little brightness in exchange for the David 15's longer battery life and better regulation.

So does the German company/supplier produce a better regulator on their torches? I mean, what model would compare (but be even better than) to the Fenix L1P and L2P models. I just would like longer battery life than the meager 3-4 hours you seem to get from a Fenix...

Thanks guys, REALLY appreciate it...

I have several and they're great buys. Very well made and inexpensive for what you get. The machining is really impressive. I think the Fenix is less expensive than their lithium tactical model but the lower priced $8 - $15 models are a bargain. I just picked up a mini tac-torch and it's comparable to my Streamlight Key Mate except that the beam is more diffuse.

Here's a link to Coast's complete line:

Same here Have the Led lenser V2 tactical light. Very well build, very powerfull and very good priced. You can't go wrong with them.

I have a 10 led (white is most britest) torch light. I found it on a magazine called "herrington" or so I think :S? cost 50 bucks but is easy to clean lasts for ever unbreakable and bright as a mofo

Same here with the Led Lenser V2 with 3 AAA batteries, very bright very focused beam. Very pleased with it so far, although I would rather use something with a broader beam for outdoors. Probably fine for "tactical" use, it has only the drawback of its advantage: the AAA batteries are cheap and easy to find but they get slowly discharged even when not used, compared to a CR123 battery which is expensive and not so easy to find, but which keeps its power much longer at the ready
