I think the stamp says MIBRO, which is a hardware distribution company based in Canada. They exist today as The Mibro Group, and while they currently import scythe blades, it looks like they don't import axes or hatchets these days.
MIBRO doesn't appear on this list of German toolmaker stamps and trademarks, so I'm assuming that MIBRO contracted with a German company to manufacture the axe and hatchets they imported.
I won't actually have the head for about a week (your responses have convinced me it's worth the $5), but I'll definitely post more pictures when it's cleaned up.
