Something tells me it's at least 24 years old.

I think the stamp says MIBRO, which is a hardware distribution company based in Canada. They exist today as The Mibro Group, and while they currently import scythe blades, it looks like they don't import axes or hatchets these days.

MIBRO doesn't appear on this list of German toolmaker stamps and trademarks, so I'm assuming that MIBRO contracted with a German company to manufacture the axe and hatchets they imported.

The shape of the head and the shape of the nail puller look very much like my Strong Boy pre-war German hatchet.

The vertical lines across the head are also seen on my hatchet. They may be related.

If you can clean it up I'd be interested to see if it has a Scandi grind like mine.

A quick internet search found a link between Mibro and 'Strong Boy'. Looks like Mibro is out of Solingen, a city famous for its cutlery and hardware.

I won't actually have the head for about a week (your responses have convinced me it's worth the $5), but I'll definitely post more pictures when it's cleaned up.

Good eye picking up on the lines across the head s_p.
