Does anyone know the legalities of owning "knuckle knives" in california? Theyre not exactly practical(unless youre in a cheesy movie with rogue black ops mercenaries ;)
More of a cool addition to my collection... Only if legal of course

Although I could find no mention of "knuckle knives" in the California penal code, section 21810 specifically states that possession of "metal knuckles" is "punishable by imprisonment in a county jail not exceeding one year". It doesn't say if it is a misdemeanor or a felony.

So, if a knife has "metal knuckles" incorporated into it's design, yes, the simple fact that it has "metal knuckles" attached to it would make it illegal to POSSESS such a knife, even in your home.

It's also illegal to sell, manufacture, trade, or give away metal knuckles in California. Clearly California law has zero tolerance for metal knuckles and takes a very dim view of anyone who possesses them for any reason.

What about push knives? The kind with the T-shape design meant to be held in the palm of the hand and the blade extending vertically between the fingers?

There is no mention of "push daggers", "push knives", "palm knives", or "palm daggers" anywhere in the California penal code. They are legal to own and carry as long as they are not carried concealed or disguised as something like a belt buckle or cane handle, etc. Basically, a push dagger is just another fixed-blade in California, even the double-edged versions.
