Hey gang,

I am about to pack up the most awesomest wedding cake cutlery ever for it's trip to Gatlinburg with Peeps and me. It will get a light "breaking in" when we cut the little cup-cake furnished by the outfit holding our wedding this Friday. The real workout will come next month at the reception (being thrown whether I want it or not by my Mom and sister) where it will be hacking apart a bona fide, multi-tiered, flower- and filigree-encrusted wedding cake. Photos will, of course, be taken. ;)

Thanks again for the awesome item, guys! The next time I post here, I will be a married man! :D Have a good week or so, everybody!

That knife could also be used for other things.
Say, for example, slicing off a bra strap.....
(carefully)

Now don't go giving him any ideas! ;)

And MacHete, make that a reception being thrown whether we want it or not! :D

At least it'll be fun slicing up the cake!
Thanks, all! :)

isn't it always that way?

I gave my parents 11 days notice for my wedding....when the day came we were done and on the plane before noon....my family was in such shock at our *gasp* non-traditional "lickety-split" ceremony that they all decided to have a Wedding Breakfast anyway - with or without us. I didn't find out about it till months later. Hilarious....but cute, too. :D

You did know that the wedding really isnt' for you.....it's for everybody else....

And it looks like you're going to be leaving them with quite the impression.........can't wait to see the widened eyes....:o

First row of grannies is gonna pass right out.....:p

Congratulations!!!

I can't believe it's already time! The date just kinda snuck up on me....Wow! I'm very excited for you. I wish you both the very best.

Bless your union.

May it be joy-filled and evolve into the perfect friendship that endures all trials.

Good health and much laughter to you and Peeps.

Kis
enjoy every sandwich

MacH,

Are you a West(by God) Virginian yet?

We got married on short notice in a one room log church that was a historical landmark near where we both went to college in Glenville WV.
My dad brought wine and fried chicken he made at home. We had about 6 guests. It was cool. Went backpacking in Dolly Sods for a honeymoon. That was 19 years ago last Tuesday! :D

No Elvis?
 ;)

I was hoping at least one person from this forum got married by Elvis.

Our "wedding" went like this:

"You left a lot of stuff here."
"Yup, guess I might as well move in."
"Do you plan to pay half the rent."
"I do."

That was over 35 years ago.
I never did pay half of the rent.

Bruise - My wife once sat on his lap and sang for Elvis. She even got paid. She sang "B-I-N-G-O" and he gave her a whole quarter (quite a lot to a 6 year old back then!)

Mac - Be careful with that thing!

I am soooo excited for the two of you. Always remember to cherish your time together. Don't ever take it for granted. Make your home a haven. I know you will have a lifetime together filled with many wonderful moments. That's two lifetimes well spent. :)

God bless you both. :)

What knife is it btw?

My wife and I got married in our living room. No one but us and the cat present. Told her folks about it two weeks later, mine read it in the sunday paper ( small towns ;) :D )

Congratulations man.

I am now an extremely happily married man! :D

Apart from the damnable brevity of our honeymoon, there were only two disappointments:

1) I did not get to see a bear.
2) We did not get to cut our "wedding package" cake in the presence of anyone else, so there were no wide eyes or dropped jaws for us to enjoy or sneak pictures of. Oh well, the delayed reception will afford us an opportunity to cut a bigger cake, and scare a lot more people. There will be pictures taken, and pictures posted. ;)

Thanks again, everyone, for your kind thoughts and wishes. Even though I have picked a clear favorite among forumites, I think you're all pretty cool.
