Some years ago when I was selling toolingfor wood I asked Hawaiians 'what is Koa?' The answer was always , 'koa ? well it's um, Koa ' Actually in the acacia family that has many fine woods .It's capable of very fine figure as KA has shown.

That's right, Mete. 1st cousin to the Ringed Gidgee. Both in the Acacia family.

Finial screws onto the threaded tang through a receiver in the butt.
