i was hoping some one can help me with this question.
I was looking at the Knives of alaska bush camp knife and noticed that on some sites its says d2 steel and others aus8a and still others aus8a and then later in the paragraph d2 steel.
does anyone here know if these knives were actually made with aus8a steel?
Thanks

I got one in the late '90's it was Aus-8. Later they switched to D-2.
Very underrated blade. Good basic user.

i got one in a trade and it doesn't say d2 so it has to be an au8a.
Do you find yours works good for camping and possibly as a survival knife?

Mine came with the cub bear piggy backed in the sheath. Those two together made a great combo. The knife is not a pry bar beater but works great for skinning and whittling and is a great camp kitchen knife.
I think I paid 90 bucks for the combo. Are there better knives out there? Sure but for the money and for what it is, there's not much it can't do.
