Let's see, who was talking about Koa, so that I promised to post this up when finished?

Anyway, here's a 5 inch, Turkish Twist over Explosion, 4-bar Damascus Drop Point Hunter. The collector supplied the stabilized Koa for its handle, and its guard, accent spacer, and domed, faceted pins are 416 stainless steel. The file-grooved collar is black linen Micarta.

It's a little working hunter, like many before, but with a touch or two of "Spiff-Up."

Hope ya like it.

Don't know if I was the one talking about Koa, but I love the stuff. And I really love the damascus pattern on this little honey - wow!

John, a little spiff up?? Looks like a lot of spiff up to me. Translates into a very nice hunter and a very happy customer. Great work.

Beautiful knife John. Have your file grooved collars on your guards always been linen micarta? I was under the assumption that the guard was one solid piece and you applied some type of black coating to your file work. Regardless, I have always been in awe of your work and will continue to drool over the crisp clean lines you are so well know for.

the old world peined pins are a nice touch, on an altogether beautiful knife.

Thanks for the compliments guys. Doing a little hunter is always a fun project.

Mike, I used to file-groove metal collars on my working knives, and black them. Then came a call from an embarrassed customer who had enthusiastically cleaned a knife with Q-tips and Semichrome...the black linen Micarta gives a clean, crisp accent, and you can clean it with a jack-hammer if you want.

Super hunter, John! Awesome damascus and the collar adds a lot to this one. So, if the collar will handle a jack-hammer, I guess a power-washer would work well, also? ;) Nice work!
