Hi folks I managed to get this one done between making damascus for the orders I have and pounding plates. It has a 9" blade 14" OAL spacer is g10 and copper nickel very thin cuts like a dream. I want to thank my friends Mike Rader Bill Burke and Bob kramer for helping make making kitchen knives cool and profitable Koa-feather1.jpgKoa-feather2.jpg

Beautiful Knife David.
Very cool look with the feather pattern in the blade and how it runs into the integral bolster.
Handle's not bad either.

Man, what a way to go in the kitchen! I'd end up cutting myself with that beauty 'cause I wouldn't be able to take my eyes off of it to pay attention to what I was doing. ;)

seems like the word I wanted to use has been repeated already, so 'groovy' is what I'll go with :)

Wow, you are now on my radar for a custom kitchen knife in the future. Awesome knife and I love the handle!

Thank you all for the kind words. Bill I am glad you like it and I do fell that there is a lot of folks like me that can sell a custom kitchen knife now because of the work done by a hand full of makers that really helped to bring back the carbon steel kitchen knife so thank you. Adam I am going to take you up on that one day and I do grill a pretty mean salmon.

That's really cute, Dave! Leave it to you to put killer Damascus pattern on a kitchen knife...looks great!

Really nice feather David, not to mention the overall package!
Anyone would be happy with that in their kitchen. If I had one like that ,you never know I might get enthused to learn how to cook
Cheers Keith

Thanks Joe I had a lot of help just learning how a knife should cut then what shape cuts best if you plan to make kitchen knives my advice would be go to a place that sells kitchen knives and try a bunch of them out and see how the different shapes work I was lucky as we have a place here called the Epicurean Edge and they have a kitchen section that is off the chart. Dan who runs the place took the time to help me understand the shapes and how they evolved over the years. my first love is still Bowie knives but I can see having kitchen knives to brake things up a bit as a good idea
