Just ordered my second knife from Pete's. I got the Koa flame pattern. Anyone have this knife yet or have any opinions on the wood? I've seen it before on bass guitars, but never knives. If I'm the first, then I'll do my best to post pictures.

By the way, the new Pete's website was not working. We placed our order through Shirley and she took care of it for us. She did a fantastic job of taking care of us. She is a wonderful person to work with.

Please do show pics when it arrives, I was eyeing that Koa myself.
Hopefully the website problems will be resolved soon and we'll be able to do more than one model too!
Hey, I can dream can't I ?;);)

I received my test Koa handled 110 last week. I selected nickel silver, no handle rivets, ATS-34 blade (non-serrated). The knife is really nice and the Koa has a neat feature. If you slightly tilt the knife, the dark areas look light and the light areas look dark. Pete said there is no guarantee that every set of inlays will have this feature, but I am certainly glad that mine does. It adds to the uniqueness of the knife. By the way, I believe that brass bolsters would look just as good with koa as the color of the brass and the lighter tone portions of the koa complement each other.
Yesterday, Pete told me the D-2 steel is still in the works. I just may use koa and brass with the D-2.
