Kobra Thickness?

Hey guys,

I recently bought a 15 inch, 19 ounce Kobra by Sher through the DOD. In looking at the HI shop site, I see the 18 inch Kobra weighs 1 oz less than my 15 incher. So, mine must be thicker at 7/16 inch that those on the HI site.

Would Kobra owners do me a favor and tell me the thickness of their Kobra. Is there a target thickness for Kobra's?

Thanks in advance,

Bill

Bill, kobras vary from blade to blade. It sounds like you have a bit of a thicker one. I own 2 kobras. My favorite, a 20.5" 20.5oz, is about 5/16th thick at the bolster (about the thickness of a cold steel trailmaster if you have ever handled one of those). I wouldn't chop much more than 2" thick sapplings or brush. It handles that very well:) I have a 25" kobra that is 32oz and about 3/8" thick at the spine. You swing that one and it just travels until it wants to stop;) The kobra used to be a cult fav around here. It still is in my top 5. What you have in that 15"er is a bit of collectors item. Normally, they don't show up anything less than 18".

I had my eye on that kobra;) good snag.

My 30" kobra measures 7/16" at the spine. Sher does tend to make things on the heavier side.
