Backwoodsman magazine has an interview with Mors Kochanski in the current issue. Speaks a lot about his mindset as opposed to showing his skills. I tried to find a way to load it onto here but couldn't. --I hope I don't get in trouble for mentioning the mag.:(--KV

Thanks for the heads up, kv.

Why would you get in trouble for mentioning the magazine?

Can you tell us how much space is dedicated to this interview and how in depth it goes? As in, would it be a useful purchase for someone who has most of his books and pamphlets?

The interview is 3 or 4 pages and he talks about his younger years and how he got started with training the military. More into how he came by his personal philosophy, mindset as opposed to showing skillsets. Some pictures and a contact for obtaining the syllabus for his training/classes. I left the mag at my office or I would be a little more specific. I think it would be a good purchase as I like the the mag and its not expensive--KV

Tony Nester did the Mors interview in Backwoodsman. Tony is very knowledgeable, a great guy, and the interview is excellent.

Here is a review I did of the Grand Syllabus mentioned in the article should you be interested. I am very biased having spent a week with Mors last year as well as a host of other reasons. I am also very fortunate to frequently pick his brain on the phone -- All I can say he is truly an amazing person -- the very rare combination of scholar and real-world practical knowledge combined with a tremendous passion to teach.

American Frontiersman magazine published an article Joe Flowers and I wrote for the Summer 2015 edition. Harris Publications posted it online HERE minus a nice quote from Cody Lundin about Mors in the print version.

Nice, that looks like a good article. I purchased the Grand Syllabus and it has a fair bit about his philosophy. May still pick up the magazine if I see it. Thanks.

I believe the issue is date September/October 2015 :)

Yeah, Tony Nester did a really cool job, and I was really excited to see that format of an interview. I think its good that people who know the skills are the ones that write about him. Did you guys see the interview I did with him for American Frontiersman? Its pretty cool too. I can load some pictures up here in a bit from it.

Not quite an interview, but there is a good article on Mors Kochanski in the current issue of American Frontiersman that is on newsstands now. "Meet the Practical & Profound Wildwod Profesor" by Christian Noble and Joe Flowers. Five pages with illustrations and good information.

No need to post it here, go out and buy the mag and give money where it is due for the work they put into it. Backwoodsman mag is one of the few mags I still get and at times I've had as many as 5 mags on the go but I've cut back to just BWM and more modern survival type mag.

This is an outdoor and survival section, if you don't like it, hit your back button and go read the knife sections.
