Is anyone using the Kodak Thin Film Resist marking system for etching blades like in the "How to Make Multi-Blade Folding Knives" book?

I'm trying to get my hands on the resist and developer, but I can not find a source for it. The Kodak number listed in the back of the book has changed, and Kodak told me that they no longer carry that line.

Anyone using this method, and where can I find supplies? Thanks -chris

the reason they dont make it any more is that the electro-chem etch is less of a hassle and less exspensive.

Dr. Lathe or Mr Blackwood used a system at least similar to Kodak. Search the archives or the custom knife forum for his address.

Hi Chris,

You can find that resist and several others that are similar at

www.cronite.com

They carry the resist, developer and thinner. I have found them to be most helpful and honest to do business with. I have used the Kodak Resist for many years and swear by it. It is expensive now but gives very good results. The etch is much crisper than what I have seen from other methods.
