Just picked one up here on BF. Loving it so far. Looked up the words and found out Koenig is German for king, while the name Arius means immortal. So the knifes name literally means "King Immortal." It seems to fit well with my CRKs and my Grimsmo Norseman in the collection. What are your thoughts on this knife?

Got one recently and knew it wasn’t for me. I wasn’t expecting it to be so milled out and hollow feeling / light.

They’re machined well and I’m sure they would hold up well but they feel like a show piece to me.

I would really like to fondle one, I am not too comfortable purchasing sight/feel unseen; I think the flipper delete would be the one I'd be after.

I have had four or five of them. They are exquisitely well made, but they feel very large in hand and in pocket. I look forward to the Mini Arius a great deal, but suspect it will be years before they become reasonably available (even with a pretty low definition of reasonably available meaning 'about as available as regular Ariuses are now').

Just another Titanium frame lock flipper. They are a dime a dozen and at much lower prices. But it does look cool.

That would bother me. For whatever reason , I prefer solid , beefy feeling knives (my Chaves Redencion is ideal for me). So although I like the look of the Arius , the hollow feeling you describe is a deal breaker.

I like the fluid action, the blade geometry, the weight, and the sound of deployment. I am not a fan of the bulbous flipper tab.

I have one and really like it. It’s more of a collection piece, and like you I find that it’s in good company with some other of my higher end folders. I like the size, weight, action and ergonomics. Yes, it’s just another Ti flipper just like a Land Rover is just another SUV. A lid for every pot as they say! 😉

I’d love the opportunity to fondle one. But, we have no shops that carry high end stuff locally, and I don’t want to spend that much on a knife without checking it out first. They certainly are a fantastic looking piece.

My honest opinion: Really high quality build, but unattractive in looks. Looks like a manetee or something. 😐

There is a Koenig for sale in the exchange right now for $1600. Used. https://www.bladeforums.com/threads/shiro-koenig.1892827/. Dang, I thought they went for like 850ish. Koenig's are production or mid-tech, right?

Well that knife is different from the standard offerings but yes, it’s quite expensive and kind of outrageous that the seller lists it as brand new in box when it appears there’s some clear snail trails and marks all over the pocket clip.

I just picked up 2 Arius’s. Probably spent too much, but I have a blue ano and then a patterned Ti. I like the blade, action and the flipper (sorry, could not go with the Flipper Delete). It is a bit bigger than I thought but really enjoying it. For summer carry in shorts, i like my small Sebenza. But in pants and what not, I’m digging carrying the Arius. For me, it’s a upgrade from my ZT 562CF which is the closest knife in style that I have to the Arius.

I think the MiniArius will make it into my collection and will sell the Blue Ano when the Mini is available.

My rotation is Arius, Sebenza(s), Inkosi and then a Mini-Bugout when i have to travel for a blade less than 3”.

Also, my wife would like the action a bit quieter when i fidget with it. :)

Take Care.

I like Arius very much. Great action. Not quite as smooth as a Norseman, but really nice. Great workmanship for a non custom knife.

I appreciate Koenig’s story of following his passion and busting his butt until he made it. The Arius doesn’t fit any of the types I like, but I get the allure. I’m a fan of anything that sparks interest and creates jobs here. I do look forward to his future offerings.

I've never fondled one so this is just pure speculation. They are a pretty sweet design and I like the mystique of the low production numbers and what not. However I'm realizing, or maybe re-realizing lately that I'm not much of a fan of wide folders with wide (from edge to spine) blades or wide handles. They just don't sit well in my hand and, for me, don't offer much cutting advantage by being wide.
