Does anyone know what a Koncept K4401 cost new and, or what it is worth now? It has textured aluminum scales, and the guy that I got it from said the blade is ATS-34 steel(but i'm not certain of this) It is 4 3/4 inches closed and 8 5/8 inches open.

Thanks

I thought I used to see them in Brigade Quartermasters and such, new I think they went for around $40. I don't know what their quality is like, looks like a Benchmade knockoff, maybe.

Actually Koncept knives were produced by the same manufacturer as some early Benchmade models. If I remember correctly, they made some early liner locks for Benchmade and when Benchmade started producing their own, the manufacturer produced "Koncept Knives". I have an early Benchmade produced by them...they rereleased it as the Koncept Grasshopper. I also have a several of 3.5" drop points with ATS-34 steel and aluminum handles, very sturdy, very nice. They were about $40 new. The knife you have was more expensive, but I don't remember how much.

The knife you have is called the "Back Ally Fighter. To the best of my recollection the knife blade is ATS-34 but not so stamped. I had a couple of their drop point folders that were smaller than what you have. Retail on what I had was $90.00 and yours was more than that. The boxes say that the blades are ATS-34. Mine had a 2 5/8" long blade that was very thick for its length and had no clip. My taste in knives changed and I no longer really like Koncept. They went out of business a few years back.

$90 was about right for that Back Alley Fighter. Actually these are very well made folders. The ones I' ve handled have extremely smooth actions, tight AND consistent lockup. But they did not have a pocket clip but rather a nylon belt pouch. And although they used rather small sized diameter washers there was no blade play OR rub! I was told the blades were of ATS 34 as well.
