I had kydex sheaths made for my pachtar and salyan:

These sheaths are awesome. Made by Eric Lind of Mashed Cat Outfitters.

1) Great retention
2) Easily removed only when the tab is pressed down
3) Ambidextrous

I'm thinking my Pen knife and 15" GRS are heading his way soon, too.

Eric Lind of Mashed Cat Outfitters really outdid himself on these.

Here's his maker's mark:

EDIT: I remember someone asking about getting a kukri in guard position from a kydex sheath in one motion. I'm not sure what kind of en guarde he had in mind, but one can easily go from sheathed at the hip to tip down stance in one motion:

Thanks arbiter, Eric bends some great kydex. He also has great customer service, and was willing to work with me with little design tweaks and customizations.

I really enjoyed working on the sheaths. A new challenge keeps me on my toes and always helps bring new ideas to the table. Thanks for pointing me in this direction!

He does great work. I gotta send him some more of my blades, just gotta save up some money first.

Very nice! How much did you end up spending on those sheaths? Been looking into getting a CAK. Definitely would like a kydex sheath for it.

Qeth,

I like the complimentary maker's mark with the Kami's.

It inspired me a lot. Great work and very skillful photo-taking as well.

BTW, that Salyan really caught my eyes. The pommel is very much kept at its originality.

Very nice! I've been thinking about having a kydex backrig designed. Might have to send Mr Grandsuave a message here when I'm ready for it.

Wow those look absolutely awesome. I had some questions about the sheathes in general.

First I was wondering how the tek lock was affixed to the sheath. Are you able to rotate the tech lock to change the orientation of the blade carry? That would basically be a dream come true.

How is the single handed draw? Is it possible the breach the tab well with you thumb enough to wedge the blade in there and complete the draw in one hand?

Those are awesome looking sheathes!!! I'm certainly thinking of sending in my WWII to get fitted for some new clothes...

Yes, you can change the orientation from vertical to horizontal to 45 degrees. My current set up is strong side belt mounted, 45 degrees blade handle pointing down. Very ergonomic to do one handed draws as pictured above, and when the motion is completed it is blade down, edge away from me. High speed low drag? Sure, but not its intended purpose in my setup. It's ergonomic to draw, and a breeze to put back once the kukri so I can have use of both my hands.

To do one hand draw is very easy, thumb on the tab to open up and pull the blade. Very smooth.

Thank you for the compliments. I really like the way they turned out.
