Hey everyone. I just got a Spyderco Kopa and I love it! Perfect blend of traditional and modern. Needless to say, I'm hooked. I know I missed the boat on these so I'm going to have to pay inflated prices to get a complete collection. I was just wondering if someone could tell me what a typical street price was on these when they were in production. Just so I'll have some frame of reference. Thanks everyone. And if anyone has any tips on any that may be available, please PM me.

Thanks!

Hey humblerodent I just bought a stacked wood kopa and you're right they're great knives. I've been wondering the same thing as you. The Spyderco online catalog has the MSRPs listed from 180 to 300 dollars so I'd guess about 100 to 170 new. I'm not sure if that's correct but $100 would have been a steal.

Spydiewiki lists the original MSRPs of all 16 Kopas. Average original street prices would have been about 35% lower. Almost all of them now fetch more than those street prices, some considerably more. As with most discontinued Spydercos, the auction site everyone loves to hate is your best bet for finding them. Some show up relatively often, some only rarely.

If your interested in acquiring a plain NOS one a local dealer I visit often has one sitting on the shelf, never priced it but if your a serious buyer we can work something out. I gave a guy here their info a few months back but found out they don't do any sort of online/mail order sales and he never took me up on me getting it and him paying me (no charge of course, you just PayPal me for the knife and shipping and I will go pick it up for you, I believe my feedback speaks for its self I wouldn't jip you).

Just an idea if your a serious buyer.

I like these Kopas alot. Wish I would have bought more when they were being released. My lone example is a turquoise model and I don't think I'll ever get rid of it. The handle materials are just beautiful. Love the honey jigged bone scales.

^^^I hear that....I sooooo wish I had bagged one of those stacked wood ones...they are just beautiful and secondary market/flea bay prices are

Add- this thread needs pics!! :D

Hey Paul, I've got a kidney for you if you want to part with that collection. :p

Just awesome!

I'm jealous of The Deacon's full set, these are sweet little knives. Very classy, and they work well as little big knife users also. I frequently carry this one in the city when I'm feeling like actually complying with Chicago's nutty knife laws:

Next time you are in that store, check on the Kopa. If it is still there, I am interested. Thanks in advance for your help.
Aloha, Bob

I love the Kopa, i have a black quince and a Mother of Pearl/Abalone. Both are gorgeous, the MOPA a little more so. Just started working on getting the MOPA model a big ol pretty edge on it as it isn't much of a hard use/EDC knife for me. It was a gift from my fiancee after I gave her the ring of rings, so it mostly just hangs out and looks good and gets some well dressed pocket time.
