Hello all, I just picked up a flea market, used 4 inch Single Blade Folder, that says KOREA, and Stainless Steel on the blade. The scales are marked THE HUNTER. Can anyone shed some light on this one, as far as the good the bad and the ugly, the timeframe made, and is it a treasure or a turd?

Thanks,

Wayne

Pictures might help. You'll need to use a photo hosting site like imgur.com

Thanks for the reply. Yes, your are correct, and i wish i could provide photos like i use to be able, to do, but it appears things have changed here, and i missed the memo.

Here’s the memo Wayne, it’s pretty straight forward on how to post pictures on the new upgraded site here.

Without having seen the photo yet, I'll go out on a limb and say that it's highly probable that you picked up a turd.
I say this only because what you describe fits the general description of the lower end knives imported from the Far East in
the 80-early 90s, ie; no specific brand name on the blade, simple steel description, COO, and a cool name on the scale. Of course
"The Hunter" could be a brand but I doubt it. Most of these were from Japan, but a few were imported from Taiwan and South Korea.
After about 1995 China became the largest source of low end knives. But of course, I could be off and you might have a treasure
on your hands which I guess we'll know after we can see the photos.
