A few weeks ago I gambled and bought this "cast iron" hand forged beast from Korea! :D It's got a GREAT profile, though it needs some serious thinning. 272mm blade length "sashimi knife" (looks more like a gyuto) made by HwaSeung Blacksmith Workshop.

Has anyone else used a similar monster blade?

I have a 300 suji, I don't know if you call it a monster or not :)

That is way too refined for "monster" status, and definitely not Korean :P I think that is the opposite of my $10 peasant knife. Makes me want to post my fancier blades!

I was mainly wondering if folks had experience with crude rustic pieces fit for orcs and such. I messed around with mine last night and was able to go up to my 5,000 grit glasstone with a 25 degree inclusive edge without trouble, after thinning the blade road, but the spine is wavy as heck!
