After looking at some posts from Jeff Valasco (BrB - Brazilian Blades) and admiring the Amazonas model made by Korth Cutlery (Ricardo and Roberto Lala) I had to have one. Plus I wanted yet another international piece in my diverse Kumbaya collection. ;)

Emails were exchanged with Jeff, and he acted as an intermediate as I asked for some specific qualities: Ivory micarta? red spacers? How about making the bolster to scale transition on a forward angle instead of 90° as I had seen...? Dress it up, please....

Yes, yes, yes. Sure, they can do that.

Crazily it only took about two months....

Check out this great 'orange peel' finish on the bolsters.

It also includes the legendary IKBS Ikoma/Korth ball-bearing system in the pivot. Smooth and tight.

I love the fuller in the blade. really an eyecatching and functional aspect, as it acts like an I-beam in strength.

The checkered beam is easily functional as an opener either one-handed or with a pinch grip.

The guys surprised me with the ivory backspine and red liners twice. It's like racing stripes! They didn't leave the clip as an add-on and gave that the same stylish attention as the rest of the knife.

Lastly, even my photos don't include the jeweling inside the liners. The screws have also been turned. Every area has been finished.

I am MOST pleased with everything about this knife. On top of that was the friendly willingness from all of the guys to work with me on my preferred aspects. Not that it needed more.

I'm priviledged to own this knife. So much so we are going to try to write up a magazine article chronicling the brothers and their work. I can try to get our foot in the door with these good images anyway.... ;)

So, you guys get the previews....

I have held one of thier knives in this model and I really like it, its a very different blade style to me and unique looking. The one I held wasnt that nice, very good score!

Wow, that just oozes class. I'm absolutely amazed. The ivory micarta really goes well with the red spacers!

I got to handle a couple Korth folders courtesy of Dweikum from EDCKnives over a year ago , some of the smoothest operating and very well built knives I have handled in a long time. And the price is ridiculously low for the quality you get , but that won't last long , once the word gets out , it's gonna be supply and demand. Be sure to check one of these out , I dont think you will be dissappointed at all.

That folder turned out just fine! Great addition to your collection.

That is a great looking knife! I really like the red liners and the ivory. And I very much like the orange peeling of the bolster. That is really a beautiful knife. That is a sweet knife.

Hey those are the pictures you sent me for my publication design project... feel free to use any of the work I had sent you, Coop, I owe you.

That is such a way cool folder - for me, the fuller really makes this piece. Thanks for the great pics and detailed write-up and enjoy the new toy. We'll sing a round of "kumbaya" for you here this evening. :)

And why not? It sure captured lots of deserved attention. Let's see how long it lasts.... :)

Thanks again, folks. Congrats to the makers and to AZCK for the offering.

PS: Madcap Magician asked me for some quality images to use as material for a faux magazine cover and article. He sent me a KILLER cover shot and layout. It's in PDF, though, and I'm not sure how to post the image. Thanks again!
