Well here is the first Koster Kit that I was able to put scales on. I went with Aluminum for the thong hole tubing as well as the front pin because it was the only material that I could get my hands on locally. Overall I am pretty happy with the end result.

After touching up the edge with 400 girt I was able to obtain some good results with this fuzz stick.

I will say that this knife will see a lot of woods time. Thanks so much Dan for these quality DIY projects. It was a blast.

Very nice Paul! Looks like Dan did it.

I went to work on mine the other day and realized my respirator wasn't quite what it needed to be to work on micarta. I like my lungs the way they are, so have to pickup a better respirator. Kind of makes me wish I had gone with a natural handle like you did. Great work, hope mine comes out as well.

Thanks Mapper,

I agree with micarta and your lungs = bad stuff. I actually wanted to make my second one in natural micarta thinking about a piggyback with the survivor I have on order but I didn't have the patience. It is glued up with some figured maple. I guess that means I will have to buy another knife from Dan to piggyback with the Survivor.

If you take your time I am sure you will have a similar result. good luck and make sure you post up the results.

Thanks for all the comments Teacher. I still have one more to shape and finish. I will post pictures when the second one is done.

I realize I can probably dig for this info but I would rather just ask, what is the blade material for that knife? The fuzz sticks are pretty impressive.

The Bush-Kit knives are CPM 3V hardened to 60-61 HRc by Paul Bos.

Thanks!

Dan
