so, i got myself a koster wsk - full on version (less the TINY saw holes). as pictured in his icon there, 5160 and cocobolo.

listening? is it quiet? holy shit. SWEEEEEET dude. oh baby. the kydex sheath is really nice, and slim and came with a teclock that fits my $9 3" army-navy find gun belt so nicely...

i've been using the belt to hold a basic ontario RAT and a 18" GRS ... the WSK will ride the other hip - though i could do a "scout carry" i think i really want a second teclock to aid with that - so not sure about it yet - maybe a leather sheath later. a small stainless mora blade too. 4 sizes of blades for different things, on one belt - quick release buckle - highly recommend for the price. bought three, feel like i shoulda have bought 5 or 7. they just too good to load up with a specific quiver of tools/pouches, and have at the ready - khurki utility belt. goes right over whatever i'm wearing, and i can roll the whole wad up and stuff into a backpack too.

on the project front, i'm doing a 4 day wilderness camp thing; fire and primitive goodness mixed with some unst unst OONTZ OONTZ (think burning man). i'll be going hog wild with the bushcraft/etc. daniel's WSK will come in handy and be demoed for various things and a push for the HI products; hence why i'm building this belt rig. towards that end, i've modified my GRS scabbard. pulled the chape right off - it's just glue, slipped a 6" long bike inner tube about 3" up and over the end, then fold the loose end UP, and secure with a 2" long band... then a series of 2-3" bands overlapping like shingles - the idea is to keep rain and moisture off the leather, quiet it down, and keep it from getting even more banged up - it's in poor shape. rubber is easy to care, i can also use a few more bands to attach something else to the scabbard; like a mora, or a tin of "survival" things, or ... shame i don't have room for the axes either on the belt, but they can ride in a pack.

as i also sold enough crap er stuff lately, i went and got a gerber brush thinner, and unless they're jerking my chain, two certain model discontinued becker knife and tool products (khukri and camp realted ;)... so, perhaps next week, many pictures and fine goodness to share. this is going to be fun.

Yes. We are very interested in seeing the pics. It was very mean of you to build it up so nicely, and then not show it to us...lol! Get'em in as soon as you can.

Good for you Bladite! Dan was nice enough to give me a heads up on that guy, as a few months ago I had specifically asked him to keep me apprised so I could get one, but just don't have the pesos right now. I definietly hope to get one myself soon. I like the sheath and the cocobolo handle very much on that.

Glad it went to a good home. BTW, got that machax today. Definitely a used box and seemingly older knife but in good condition. Let me know if you get the magnum camp. That thing is a slicing machine and great edge design.

it's a sweet knife, and the price was sweet too :) i like these tek-loks a lot. more more more.

glad you got your machax... sounds like new old stock - that's probably one of the last bunches. am terribly tempted to buy a second one.

i don't have mine yet, nor the magnum camp, NOR the gerber brush hook thing... bit of a sweet deal, good prices, and shipping. it's supposed to show up within the week. we'll see. could have used the brush hook this weekend.
