Thought I'd show some pictures I took of my recently acquired YCS.

You may check them out at the link here.

Please let me know what you think of this khukuri and I would welcome any constructive feedback on the quality of pictures taken.

Thank you.

Harry those pix are nice for a fledgling knife photographer!!

Much better than most of my pix usally are.

I could see nice detail in one of the pix of the top fuller, but the bottom one was indistinct for me.
Nice pix of the detail and the inlay on the handle pix.
And the whole khukuri appears very nicely done. And that's all I should say since I am sorta biased about the YCS.

You might be interested in a post that was made in the Shoptalk Forum not long ago.
One of the guys there is a professional photographer and posted the directions for a very simple light diffuser used to eliminate shadows on knife blades without the glare usually associated with knife pix.
And by using the device a lot of detail not usually visible can be brought out in nice focus and clarity.

looks to me like you're already over the steep part of the learning curve. Those are nice shots. What did you use as a light source?
It looked like there was some copper or brass inlay up near the blade spine close in to the handle, but I couldn't be sure or make out the pattern. That might be worth a closeup.

I used just natural sunlight for lighting.

As for the inlay, copper and brass were used.

I'll take another picture or two and add this to the album.

Thanks for the commentary!
