Im collecting some money to buy the r.j. Martins kozuka but i have some questions.

1st- does anyone know the overall lenght oh the knife

2nd- how does the handle feel in the hand, and is it long enough for an averige man palm.

and 3rd- Is this knife good for everyday use.

I'm sure RJ will be along shortly to comment on this, but I'll add a general comment on the EDC-ability of his knives, and the comfort in the hand.

RJ tends to make no-nonsense knives. They're sharp, and they do what they're designed to do. His Japanese knives have an amazing grip that you won't lose hold of anytime soon. They're also very comfortable.

Honestly, you may want to just email RJ and ask him for his suggestions. He's a great guy to talk to and is really willing to work with the customer to get them something that is going to work for their application AND make them happy in the end. After all, if you're not happy with the knife, or it won't work for your application, what good is buying it?

Good luck and please let us know what you end up with!

He makes the Kozuka in a few different sizes.

His Japanese knives are very comfortable in the hand, I EDC a kozuka and a Manta Ray. Some people don't like cord wrapped handles, I prefer them, the handle stays in your hand.

Yes, the kozuka is a great everyday knife.
(But, may I suggest a Manta Ray, I bought one 2 years ago and have used it almost everyday since)

BG, I just purchased a Martin Devastator that will be here next week. That Manta Ray is one more nice looking knife! I had been looking at before I ever purchased the Devastator, and had come to the conclusion that it needed to be put on my short list of customs. I just don't see how one could go wrong with the Manta Ray, if your looking for a shorter fixed bladed knife.

You should know that RJ also just introduced a smaller version (4") of his Rampage fixed blade. If I may say so, the Rampage (small OR large) is one of the BEST deals going in the custom fixed blade market. The Manta Ray is a VERY nice fixed blade for EDC- that handle is going NOWHERE!!!

Thanks guys, i saw the manta ray before and i like it very much, but when i saw the kozuka i knew i had to have it
