This is a Asian styled knife? The one pictured is one made by DMKNIVES, or David Moiser. I love the simple lines of the knife, and the epoxied cordwrap over black/tan G-10 with a skull & crossbones menuki really add a touch to the knife. The dimensions are; 4.25" X .187" blade of D2 steel, and an oal of 9.0". That menuki is titanium, and it comes with a horizontal kydex sheath.

Can anyone shed any light on the Kozuka itself?

Thanks Walking Man! I guess then it might be considered a last ditch weapon. I also guess I could do a google search on kozuka and find out some info.

It's really more a utility knife. A broken sword would be a lot more useful as a weapon than one of these. Historically, "kozuka" refers to the handle only. The blade is the "kogatana," and they weren't traditionally fixed to the kozuka - it was a simple friction fit.
