krabai qeustion

I've picked up a couple of Hanwai Banshee's, kind of a Thai krabai, Burmese Dah copy, the steel seems good, some sort of high carbon, no rust, corrosion, and true, problem is I hate the scabbard and handles, and I want something more traditional, I want something at least as round as a Bokken at the base of the handle, and a more traditional scabbard, wood work is not a problem, I would just like some input, I was thinking of using Purpleheart, since I, a load of it, so, scabbard of Purpleheart, handles of the same, wraped in black samegawa, and finished with a light purple cotton weave, any comments, please! R.
