I have trained KK with Colonel Nattapong (I'm probably spelling that incorrectly), former Thai national champion and chief instructor for the Thai armed forces. Last I heard he is now in the U.S. Where are you located?
In the classes I attended, the Colonel taught mainly double sword. The swords have longer handles than many Filipino swords I've used. The most common strikes were originated from a high hold. The striking patterns were different from most FMA styles I've seen.
One thing that really impressed me were the KK running attacks. There's a lot of aerobic activity! They also do some pretty cool jumping sword attacks.
As you'd expect if you've ever watched Muay Thai kickboxing, there are a fair number of kicks integrated in with the sword work. I liked most of it, except where they try to disarm a sword by kicking up on the opponent's wrist. If he pulls back a little, you kick the edge of his blade. I asked the Colonel why I wouldn't simply chop off the opponent's wrist if I'm within range to kick it. I think he wanted to reserve his two swords to deal with the opponent's second sword and to launch a counterattack.
In any event, let me know if you want me to track the Colonel down.
