I was inspire by the paper cut test where you push cut through a magazine/phone book/etc. Only that didn't seem like much of a challenge (done it before with these). So I stacked up four pieces of old 11oz Veg tan leather for about a 3/4" stack. Made six straight down cuts and it still shaves hair with ease. Pretty impressive for a relatively thick knife with a narrow bevel. If the edge geometry is correct and the HT is nailed, these suckers cut like crazy and do it for a long time. This one is chisel ground fyi.

Phill Hartsfield told me he could easily push his knives thru a phone book, due to the geometry of the blade grind.

I believe it! I have done that with these, like I said in the OP. I wanted to do something that wasn't so easy. ;)
