Kraton handle adjustments

Hello my fellow knife aficionados.

I hope you can offer me some advice, share the best practice and some life hacks.

Since CS released Master hunter and pendleton hunter in 3v I am a proud owner of both knives.
I dont mind kraton handles, there are comfortable and offer good grip.
There is only one thing that bothers me...

On both knives there are gaps between kraton handle and the steel especially visible if you flex/push on the kraton.

With 3v being not stainless, it is technicaly possible for moisture (water, blood, guts etc) getting trapped between kraton and steel and causing rust.

Any ideas how to "seal" and secure the handle to avoid it or am I overthinking things here.

Thanks in advance

Michal

o_O I never worried or thought much about it before ...but now  !

I've thought about that too but I don't think it's worth worrying about. In 40 years you can remove the Kraton, clean it up and make a custom handle.

It used to worry me. Some use black silicone sealant, including Ontario Knife Company when I sent in a rubber handled knife for a replacement handle.

For what it’s worth, I’ve noticed the 3V Master Hunters to have a better fitment in that area than the carbon v versions. If memory serves me correctly, the aus-8 version I had was absolutely sealed in that area.

Just for a peace of my mind I am considering sealing it somehow.
Would gasket sealant be sufficient or do you have any other suggestions?

If black silicone is good enough for Ontario...post a pic if you do it!

I agree that black silicone sealant should work.
