Kraton handles in hot weather?

yo;

i'm considering getting a knife with a Kraton handle (a CS recon tanto to be precise).

i've heard the Kraton handles can get a little "tacky" or "grippy" in hot weather.

as i live in Queensland, Australia, i can look forward to four or more months a year of daytime max temperatures in the 40-45C+ range (that's 104-113F for you Americans). unfortunatly, nighttime minimums can hover around the 35C mark (95F).

in winter, daytime maxs drop to around 25-30C (77-86F) and nighttime minimums can approach freezing (yay for living in a semi aride environment)

so, is the Kraton handle going to piss me right the hell off in hot weather? can i rehandle the knife or should i just get something with a stacked leather handle straight up? (like a Ka-Bar tanto or straight old USMC jobby)

Should do okay. Kraton is the same as FRN, right? It'll take more than that to melt it.

Sweaty hands are an issue.

Throw in some dirt and you get one slippery grip with Kraton handles.

The checkered Kraton on the CS would be ok in heat and sweat. I have couple of CS knives with Kraton back in India and never had any issue in 45 degrees plus temperatures. Infact the smoother handles on some knives tend to slip in sweaty hands.
