Is the oil attacking the kraton handle a problem for Cold Steel Carbon V knives? I old Recon Tanto with the brass bolsters that I got Brasso on. The Brasso attacked the handle. This was my fault. However, on some CS (and others) knives oiling the blade brings the oil into contact with the kraton. Has anyone noticed any handle degradation due to oiling the blades?.

Will I have a CS Trailmaster that the handle eventually failed on although I don't think it was entirely any oil's fault.
And on my SRK which I admit doesn't get used much the Rem Oil I use on it doesn't seem to have hurt it too much either.
The worst thing on the kraton handles is just everyday wear and tear IMO.
I wouldn't buy another knife handled entirely in kraton alone. So far the kraton inserts I have on at leat one knife seems alright, but then again it hasn't seen that much use either.
And that comes from having several choices to pick from.

The respierene(sp?) that Busse uses seems to hold up much better, but I haven't used my Basic 9 all that much either as I usually take one of my HI Khukuri's instead.
