I was using krazy glue to fix a cracked table top today, and to make a short story even shorter, I had an idea. Krazy glue always comes in those little white plastic cylinders with the red cap. Has anybody out there in BF land ever used them to keep matches or tender dry. Looks like they would be good for stuffing PJ soaked cottonballs into, or anything else one might want to keep dry.

Just thought I'd run that up the flag pole.

On that note you could use any number of cylindrical *sic shaped items.
The old plastic Vicks tubes , when the long inside is cut off it makes a neat little tube.
Another thought , dental floss containers.. although not very water proof.
hmm........

O-Boy just the opening I was looking for to show just how creative the truly cheap can be, or not.
I picked up an old Tekna Micro Lith flashlight at a garage sale for quarter, figured what the heck I would take a chance, they used to be pretty good little lights.
Found out they take a special battery (not AA) couple bucks each and hard to find, now I know why it was for sale.
The light is about 4" long X 5/8" and has a lanyard ring on the end and is made of heavy duty plastic, has a O ring and is water tight.
I pulled out the guts and found that I could get 12 matches, one of the little Boy Scout Hot Spark Fire starters and some tinder inside. Also discovered that the lenz is a magnifier and I could start a fire with it. Makes a pretty compact little fire kit.
You could also put a button compass in the front and read it through the lenz.

Yep, I guess just about anything can have an alternant use.

5 gallon buckets work great when canoeing and rafting to keep sleeping bags and gear dry. Also the handles work great loading and unloading.

check out the tubes that airborne comes in:
http://www.airbornehealth.com/

aside from the health benefits of the product, the cap of the tube has dessicant in it already! and the tubes are fairly water tight - i use them for ... everything. they hold tinder, wax, cue tips, cottons balls, needle/thread... stuff. sweet. especially since i buy them 6 at a time (get 1 free :>)...

old bic biro pens too - yank out the pen part, put the cap back on - micro container for ... something.

As I've said before you know your a PSK addict when you buy things you don't need to make use of the packaging.

"Hey, Honey, look. I got you a gross of floral scent diaper wipes."

"Uh, none of our kids use diapers anymore."

"Well, yeah, I know, but look at the little tubberware boxes they come in. How would I get the smell off 'em?"

Admit it...
