That looks great. I'm contemplating sending him my HD-7 to re-grind. His work is outstanding.

Haze, that sure is a good looking knife. Who did the beadblast for after Tom's regrind? And did you have to sharpen it again after beadblast?

Thanks for the great pic's!

The bead blast finish was done done by Tom. The blade is exactly as I recieved it from him, all i did was put it back on the handle

That's looks fantastic! Good job done there! I guess you wouldn't expect anything else from Mr. Krein.

Reground the Chisel Bevel Grind to a Zero Chisel Grind. This gets rid of the secondary angle at the edge of the blade. There is now just one single angle from the start of the chisel grind to the sharp edge. Beautiful.

edit- oh and from looking at the pics you can see a fine bright line along the sharp edge because it was sharpened and stropped after bead blasting the blade. If this wasn't done the blade wouldn't be at its sharpest but it would look uniformly grey.

edit-Bevel Grind

That pretty much covers it :D
Its also got a slight hollow grind now a swell :)

How long was the turn around time and if you don't mind, how much did it cost?

You can PM me if you don't feel like public disclosure of specifics.

I spoke to Tom on the phone last week. A real nice guy and ready to take on any blade! $35 for Regrind and $10 for shipping. I didn't ask what the turnaround time was though.

Lycosa is right! Tom can really put magic into a blade. Even for him to sharpen a blade is amazing. IMHO his work is a great deal. Now it's not even worth it to pull out my edge pro. It's a lot easier to cut Tom a check and send that baby in!
