I’ve been collecting small Krein fixed blades this year and thanks to A.S. A.S. Who responded to my WTB ad I’m the new owner of this beauty.

About ten years ago I gifted a stag TK1 to a friend who did something very generous for me, and I’ve always missed that little knife. One of the best if not the best 3-finger knives I’ve ever fingered.

Well, this one gives it a run for its money. It’s a very early Krein probably before he was naming models, I believe it’s a TK-2. And being that Krein came out of Dozier’s camp the fact that it’s D2 makes it even special. I’m a huge fan of Dozier’s D2 and this one has that same toothy scary sharp feel, with a deep hollow / thin grind. And to top it off it’s got a superb Rowe sheath that the knife clicks into.

Just wanted to honor this special knife with a post.

That is one beautiful knife. I only have one Krein, a recent era Tusk w excellent D2 and a sweet micarta handle. It was the only knife I had with me on a day I caught a bunch of crappie. Would not have been my first choice but it helped me fillet a ton of fish to fry for supper!
