Here is my first 2007 purchase and the story behind it. In late 2006 I decided to change my job and presented my resignation. The new job starts tomorrow. As the former company owed me a bunch of vacation days the paycheck was particularly high this month. Last weekend I saw this knife and asked the familial financial advisor (read the wife) if investing a part of that money in a knife instead of rapidly spending it on more perishable goods wouldnt be a good idea. Surprisingly, she agreed
The knife is a semi-integral drop point hunter by Dietmar Kressler. The blade has 3 1/8" for an OAL of 6 3/4". The scales are snake wood and they look very nice IMO. I don't know what steel it is made of, I tried to email Kressler but the email on his site bounces back.
What I like about this knife is the flawless execution. There are very few knives I've had or handled so far that match it. As you might imagine, I'm extremely happy about it. Now I need a Lovett Chute, a S.R. Johnson New York Special and a Loveless Big Bear to complete a neat Loveless design collection. Im good at daydreaming: D
Taking a picture was a tricky job. I don't have a setup and the light is very low outside. This is the best pic I could produce. I hope you like it.
