This axe is a single bit that popped up for sale on the net. It has a hickory handle that is not original. Head has not been cleaned up but appears to be in very good shape. Seller said he found it in a garage. Looks like they are rare I can’t find any value on them. What do you guys think they are worth.

Well it was manufactured after the 1929 Kretschmer merger. It’s in pretty good shape, assuming the picture isn’t hiding any problems with the bit and eye isn’t deformed.
I suspect it would sell for $140-$199. (maybe it could go for $220-$240 but only if you found the right buyer.)
Final answer: IMO $165-175 is probably the price point on it.

Thanks I think I’ll have to pick it up the guy as asking $50 for it.

Well bought for $50. If you put a buy it now for $100 on it, you could double your money immediately. (Let me know if you’re going to do that.) ;)
I will have to wait to Friday to pick it up unfortunately so hopefully it will not sell before then.

Probably a lurker here. You gotta be careful with sources, when it comes to a dollar people are ruthless.

Eta: I seem to have confused this thread with a one were the OP had posted a pic of the ad.

I think he just posted that picture of it but it probably didn’t matter he had to wait to make the sale. It’s “first come” on Craigslist, you gotta jump on a deal like that when you see it.
