Just got the mail and my kryptek 7 was there already! Ordered Saturday and already got it, fast shipping EKI!

The scale coloring is quite a bit darker in person than I anticipated but it is a very attractive design. G-10 has a nice grippy but not too aggressive texture. There is also a new style jimping on the thumb ramp, at least compared to my commander. Now for some pics.

That looks awesome! Definitely different jimping than my 7. I dig it though.
 
Great looking 7! I just got a standard black G10 waveless CQC-7 forum 2014 and it has the same jimping as your Kryptek one. I think the Kryptek looks better in your pic than the one on the Emerson site.
 
Thanks guys. Good to know on the jimping, had no idea the waveless models had unique jimping. The kryptek is a cool pattern for sure.
 
The G10 is a random design so each knife is unique. Yours just happened to be the darker pattern. Glad you like it!
 
The G10 is a slightly different pattern, and there is no liner on the G10 side. The overall dimensions are pretty much the same though.
 
dr. The HD7 has slightly wider blade, and as OM and ray stated, a different front. It's thinner than the CQC7 too. I just love it.

I do like the look of the handle. If I could pick up one on the exchange I might try it. For the scratch wanted for a new one I would rather try a roadie and a mini 15.

Either way Ernie is getting my money though, might as well get all three!
 
Yea, that's why a bought a used HD7. A new one is SALT!!
And as I said before, a CQC7 framelock would have fit the bill but Ernest is a knife designer.
