KS 3 1/2 japan single bit axe head

Hello all, I haven't posted in quite awhile as no interesting tools have came my way. That changed yesterday when I acquired a a single bit stamped "KS 3 1/2 Japan". It has some red paint on it and is very good shape. What I find interesting about this axe is that it rings like a bell when tapped on. 7 7/8 inches long, cutting edge 4 3/4", poll 3 1/2" and rounded on corners. Any information is appreciated.
