Last week I sent my old Barrage for service. Won't go into details, since that's in another thread. Anyway, I received the knife back from the company yesterday, and I have to say I'm very impressed. Not only was the turn around faster than expected (6 days from send out to receipt), but as far as I can tell it's a brand new knife. The scales were in good shape, but did have minor scratches and such (as you'd expect after 4 years). Those are all gone. The coil spring seems a lot stronger. (I'm sure this was replaced.) Even the blade, which was scratched a bit, but otherwise in good shape appears new. I expected the coil spring to be reset & possibly replaced, the screws to be replaced, and the blade to be factory sharp, but I wasn't expecting the knife to come back "as new." Now I'm wondering why the hell I've never taken advantage of the lifesharp/warranty program. Well done Benchmade.

I've always been very please with Benchmades customer service, it's second to none.

I've been fortunate enough to never send in a benchmade. Tho threads like this are re assuring incase that day comes.

Yep, I've gotten to the point that I send me current production knives in for Lifesharp every 3 to 6 months just because it's like having a new knife all over again when I get it back. BM's Lifesharp was a little slow a few months back, but they're back to just taking a few days to a week now. Brad

Benchmade is still to this day the best customer service oriented company in the knife industry by far.
I've dealt with alot of makers and so far no one has yet to come CLOSE.

Great news!
I just received the same fantastic customer service!

This was the first time I NEEDED to send the knife in, but from now on, I'll touch up the serrations (since they don't sharpen serrations) and let them handle sharpening the normal edge. Oh, I might as well add that I saw a post somewhere (it may not have been on this site) that BM will not send assisted open knives b/c they are illegal in some areas. Obviously this is not true. It's possible that BM has some kind of list of states that don't allow assited opening (I doubt it), but the reason that they won't mail automatic knives (unless you meet the requirements on the company website) is because federal law bans interstate transport of them (with some exceptions for dealers, LEO and Military). I think (but verify on your own) that it's up to the purchaser to know and obey other local knife laws.
