Kudos to Self-Reliance Illustrated...

The new issue of Self Reliance Illustrated just arrived. I haven't gone through the whole thing, but really enjoy these publications and give a big thumbs up to the crew that put this together and those that contribute. My wife and son both have been through it and really like it; there's a great article on an extended backpacking load-out from a very knowledgable woman. If you haven't seen a copy yet, give'em a shot as you'll really enjoy the amount of effort and quality that goes into these publications.:thumbup:

Buy the back issues if you can..they have all been great. What impressed me on several levels was that the mag is co-owned or co-run by BHK but they write about all kinds of knives and other gear. Great folks and lots of good writers.

I hear the guy that advertises on their back cover is really cool.

Seriously, it is a good magazine. I like that they will follow a theme with each issue, and present reviews and information on a lot of similar products and skills at the same time.

Yep been reading issue 5 now and then since it came in the mail, the backpacking article of Payge's is a good read. I have all six issues and have enjoyed them all so far.
