I just got the batch of wood back that I sent to Mike at Wood Stabilizing Specialists Int'l.

WOW.

I sent Mike a bunch of punky, spalted maple burl that was neat to look at but pretty much useless.

After being treated, I just sanded all the pieces down on the disc sander and buffed. This stuff is amazing now!!!

Also sent Myrtle Wood, Curly Maple, Maple burl, and Koa...and it all looks awesome.

It was a smooth and easy business transaction.

My 2cents.

I used WSSI too. The Thuya came out beautiful - the curly maple came out great - and the australian lacewood... well two out of three ain't bad. The one drawback I found was the 3 pound minimum. I actually wound up sending some poor quality pieces just to make up the weight minimum.

Does anyone know if K&G has a minimum order size for stabilizing?
