I recieved an early Christmas gift from a friend. He gave me a Kukri knife that is very old looking, the blade its selft is shiny and sharp. It has a couple of knicks out of it. The handle is dark brown wood with silver dots that look like they are tiny metal rods that go though the handle to make a design. On the end of the handle it is worn but looks like a lion or an animal of some kind. The blade is shiny like I said with inlays? of what looks like a sun or a flower. There is a little rust where the blade meets the handle. The scabbard feels like its wood with a leather outter wrap on it. The scabbard looks like it has been there and back again. I am interested in any coments or question any may have about this Kukri knife. Please fill free to email me @ cjakeene04@earthlink.net
Thank You

Irishseal I hate to be the bearer of bad news but it sounds like your khukuri is an India made tourist model. The dot engraving on the blade, the metal inserts in the handle and especially the lion's head on the butt cap all point to that. Sorry.:(

What Yvsa said. However, if you are the type to turn lemons into lemonade, then if you like this type of knife with all of it's perfects you should try out one of HI's khuks. They are the REAL DEAL and have a lifetime warranty on them. Welcome:)!

Greetings AND WELCOME to this forum IrishSEAL. I also am an Irishman of sorts. My people came from Scotland through Ireland to these United States and I am a fifth generation Texan.

You have come to the right place to inquire about the khukri that you presently own. Do not let your mind be troubled about the fact that your khukri is a piece of junk made in India.

Here at this place you will be able to buy the world's best khukris (Himalayan Import Khukris)at the lowest possible prices. When you get your first Himilayan Imports Khukri, you will be able to compare a good khukri to a bad khukri, with an ugly lion's face that looks more like the head of a hog. You will actually be able to do a close study of the good, the bad and the ugly when it comes to khukris. By doing this close study, you will never be condemned to wasting your hard earned money on a bad counterfeit and ugly khukri, because you will know exactly what a genuine good khukri looks like. It is most important to be able to discern the difference between the genuine and the counterfeit in all areas of life, especially khukris.

By the way, does that word SEAL in IrishSEAL refer to SEA, AIR and LAND?
WELCOME, once again brother. You have arrived at a truly great forum here. Stick around and check it out.
